As an Operating Engineer, you will support continuous operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems at our multi-campus site in Franklin, MA. You will work as part of a 45-person technical engineering team across multiple shifts, reporting to shift leads who ensure seamless coverage and efficient execution of planned maintenance and off-hour work requests. This role focuses on maintaining critical building infrastructure with zero downtime tolerance. Strong HVAC expertise is essential for success in this position.</p><h2></h2><h2>What your day-to-day will look like:</h2><ul><li>Complete assigned maintenance tasks including painting, pressure washing, cleaning, maintaining lighting systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, and general building maintenance</li><li>Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests efficiently to support continuous building operations</li><li>Respond to off-hour work order requests as part of shift rotation, ensuring minimal disruption to critical operations</li><li>Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks with focus on critical systems and high-priority planned maintenance</li><li>Support on-call and emergency response situations, working collaboratively with shift leads and the Chief Engineer to resolve issues rapidly</li><li>Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls, escalating complex technical issues appropriately</li><li>Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested</li><li>Comply with all safety procedures and maintain awareness of critical system status</li><li>Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs focused on critical infrastructure</li><li>Coordinate with shift leads to ensure seamless handoffs and continuous coverage across multiple shifts</li></ul><p></p><h2>Required Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>Strong HVAC background, with demonstrated expertise in HVAC systems operation and maintenance</li><li>Minimum 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry</li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li><li>Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall</li><li>Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive</li><li>Flexibility to work Tuesday-Saturday OR Sunday-Thursday schedule across varying shift times (3 shifts available)</li><li>Must be available to work on-site</li></ul><p></p><h2>Preferred Qualifications:</h2><ul><li>Experience working in shift-based or 24/7 operations environments</li><li>Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degree</li><li>Universal CFC EPA certification or willingness to achieve within first year (with JLL assistance)</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work independently</li><li>Proven ability to work independently and report effectively through chain of command</li><li>Customer service skills and effective communication with shift leads and team members.</li></ul><p></p><h2>Location:</h2><p>50 Constitution Boulevard, Franklin, MA</p><h2>Work Shift:</h2><p>We are hiring for multiple Operating Engineer positions across various shifts. Current openings include:</p><ul><li><b>1st Shift:</b> 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday)</li><li><b>2nd Shift:</b> 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday)</li><li><b>3rd Shift:</b> 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday)</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Shift assignments will be determined based on business needs and candidate availability. Please indicate your shift preference and availability during the application process. </b></p><p></p><h2>Salary/Comp:</h2><p>$80,000 to $90,000</p><p></p><p>This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
