Job Description
 

The Senior Director, Strategic Market Access Initiatives will serve as a key strategic partner within the U.S. Market Access organization, leading high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that shape and advance corporate-level strategies. This role is designed to accelerate leadership development and support urgent, complex projects that influence patient access, pricing, trade, and policy across the company’s portfolio.  This role will work on leading strategic initiatives and coordinating across Market Access functions to make recommendations and implement solutions.
 

With a deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare landscape, U.S pricing and contracting dynamics and the Market Access organization. The Senior Director will collaborate across Market Access and with internal stakeholders—including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Legal, Government Affairs, Pricing & Contracting, and Finance—to drive alignment and execution on initiatives.
 

This highly visible role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, capable of representing the Vice President of Market Access in executive-level forums and translating complex strategies into clear, actionable insights and executive level presentations with clear storytelling. 

This role is located out of our Foster City CA headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Lead short-term, high-impact initiatives with urgency and precision, serving as a catalyst for strategic transformation within Market Access.
  • Develop and execute cross-functional strategies in response to evolving healthcare policies, payer dynamics, and corporate priorities working across Market Access functions to achieve.
  • Drive scenario planning and risk mitigation strategies related to pricing, reimbursement, and access.
     

Cross-Functional Liaison & Coordination

  • Serve as a central point of coordination across Market Access teams and broader corporate functions to ensure strategic alignment and timely execution.
  • Support preparation for earnings calls and Quarterly Business Reviews, including development of key U.S. Market Access related messages, data synthesis, and response coordination. 
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across Market Access teams on urgent initiatives (including quarterly business review questions), ensuring consistent implementation and awareness.
     

Executive Communication & Influence

  • Represent the Vice President of Market Access in C-level meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Translate complex strategies into digestible formats for executive audiences through written communications, presentations, and live discussions.
  • Build strong relationships with Market Access leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective communication and responsiveness to urgent matters.
  • Independently develop strategic recommendations and responses, leveraging deep expertise in Market Access and policy landscapes. 
  • Executive level story-telling and presentation development through strong verbal and written communication.

Basic Qualifications

  • 14+ Years with BS/BA
    OR
  • 12+ Years with MS/MA or MBA
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or related) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical market access, pricing, reimbursement, or healthcare policy.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior
