The Team is responsible for S&P Global Commodity Insights commercial activities in the German, French and Austrian market. Working with existing clients and focusing on strategic growth in the region. You will join a high performing team which has a lot of passion, curiosity and dedication. Responsibilities and Impact:
- This role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to drive revenue and enhance client relationships in key markets in Europe. Initiating and driving client engagements with lasting relationships is key to achieve business growth in the market.
- You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of professionals within the energy & commodity space. I.e. trading houses, brokerages, chemical & industrials companies, automotive companies, steel producers, governments, utilities or FMCG.
- Opportunity to engage with various departments within our client base i.e. Trading-, Risk-, Finance-, Strategy-, Procurement-, Sales- or ESG Teams
- You will work in a very international, fast paced organization in which every happening in the world has an impact on the solutions we provide to our clients.
- Staying up to date with market trends, understanding our clients businesses and adapting new tools and technologies for our service deliveries (AI) is essential.
- Proactively collaborating with different Commercial stakeholder and business lines within the organization to achieve an outstanding client experience with S&P.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- University degree with 3+ years experience in business development or sales roles managing complex accounts in an international environment
- Self-starter approach with confidence to apply innovative initiatives, accepting push-back and going the extra mile to achieve success
- Consultative sales and negotiation skills experience, possess high integrity and proficiency to all phases of selling cycle from need creation, proposal preparation, negotiation and deal closure
- Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, being able to build valuable and impactful business relationships internally and externally
- German and English language skills (full business proficiency) is a must have, French language skills on top would be an advantage
- Passion and dedication for the commodities and energy world. Staying on top of global and regional macro and micro environmental trends
- Strong planning and organization skills, able to prioritize
- Curiosity and adoption for new AI technologies for internal and external use cases
- Business travel is a requirement for this role
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in or directly supporting trading or market analytics within the Global Energy and Commodity space
- Develop an exceptional understanding of, and stay current on, the S&P Global Commodity Insights products and functionality and their application to specific clients/job functions
- Produce accurate sales forecasting and keep an up-to-date pipeline, contacts and meeting notes in SalesForce CRM system
