Job Description

Primary Function:

This role will lead a multi-billion-dollar, business-to business Credit team for Intuitive Surgical. This leader will partner with key players in the Global Accounts Receivable team, Global Sales team, Business Leaders, Business Finance, and Finance Technology teams to drive operational excellence for key processes (Credit Evaluation, Financial Analysis, Risk Management) in addition to delivering an excellent customer experience.  This leader will leverage business to business experience driving technology to transform Credit department capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors credit exposure and credit restrictions, supports sales and customers to meet operational business requirements.
  • Performs and analyzes credit-worthiness reviews for strategic and high-risk customers in line with Corporate Policy.
  • Owns short to mid-term (1-3 years) strategy and operational direction for the Credit Department
  • Maintains and revises credit scoring model and adjusts for market conditions and operational changes.
  • Monitors and reports on customer credit risks across all product and services to ensure timely identification and mitigation of collection and credit risks.
  • Leads process improvement activities including evaluation of system, processes, and policies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility while partnering with the sales, finance, and leadership teams to manage customers with high complexity.
  • Manages, coaches and mentor’s professional staff; provides guidance and direction on complex issues.
  • Collaborates with Collections Sr. Manager to analyze customer payment performance to identify potential risks to optimize collection efficiency and minimize bad debt.
  • Drives the credit hold process including managing customers with solvency issues/financial stress.
  • Drives the design and delivery of technology projects, automation solutions, including defining requirements, and performing/managing user testing.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving change and innovation within Credit Risk.
  • Manages support documentation requests related to SOX controls.

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Risk Assessment or closely related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of business credit experience and managing Credit Professionals in a high growth environment, corporate environment. (Required)
  • Ability to interpret financial data (Financial Statements, Dun & Bradstreet, Industry data) by analyzing trends, variances, opportunities, and risks to provide conclusions to stakeholders.
