The Team:

The Associate Director of Technology Business Operations plays a vital role within the S&P DJI Technology Governance and Delivery Enablement team. This role supports vendor strategy and assists in facilitating cross-divisional technology initiatives. Key responsibilities include contributing to vendor selection and assessment efforts, collaborating with the S&P DJI Finance team to provide insights on financial performance for the Technology Organization, and supporting key initiatives as the project manager.

Responsibilities and Impact:

Vendor Management:

  • Assist in vendor selection and evaluation to support organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Technology Leadership Team (TLTs) to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, securing favorable pricing, quality, and service levels.
  • Regularly review and assess vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms and continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, fostering open communication and collaboration to resolve conflicts and enhance partnerships.

Financial Outlook and Performance:

  • Assist in developing the annual technology budget, either through direct contribution or by coordinating efforts with Finance and providing insights.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of technology spending, identifying trends and variances, and providing insights for informed decision-making regarding resource allocation.
  • Prepare reports related to technology operations, including estimate vs. actual comparisons.
  • Gather and analyze inputs from stakeholders on budget needs and priorities.

Project Management:

  • Conduct workshops with Initiative and Epic owners to define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of complex initiatives, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Create and maintain initiative roadmaps that outline high-level timelines, milestones, and dependencies, providing a clear visual representation of the work involved.
  • Track and report progress on key technology strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Value Stream (VS) team to decompose initiatives into Epics.
  • Be a culture carrier in getting work done by displaying ownership, accountability and transparency.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $200,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, information technology, business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in technology management in a software engineering environment.
  • Expertise in vendor management, financial analysis, and project management methodologies.
  • Strong data-driven approach to decision making
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience in managing budgets and headcount planning.
  • Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledgeable in GenAI and LLM technologies.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, MS Teams, Miro, MS Suite, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM, CPM, Lean Six Sigma Certification).
  • Experience with lean portfolio management.
  • Understanding of cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
