About the role

Our J.P. Morgan Corporate Communications team is seeking an experienced communications professional for an integral role in developing and executing the external communications strategy. Embark on your journey as the Global DEI Communications Executive Director where you will use your strong external communications DEI experience along with your media relations experience and develop communications strategies to support JP Morgan Chase's Diversity, Equity, and inclusion work. 

As a Global DEI Communications Executive Director within our Communications team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion narrative. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing communication strategies that support our DEI initiatives. You will work closely with senior executives and stakeholders, providing an exciting opportunity to lead and influence our DEI communications on a global scale, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop communications strategies and tactics in support of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and inclusion work, partnering with Communications team members and key senior executives and stakeholders to execute on communications strategies; and lead consensus and review processes across various business units for company's communications goals.
  • Develop integrated storytelling to support and elevate the voice and work of JPMorgan Chase, including media relations, thought leadership, talk points, crisis response and internal activation. 
  • Generate new ideas and collaborate with others within the communications team and internal stakeholders in a matrixed, fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Continuously challenge and evolve messaging, channels and platforms to keep pace with quickly evolving landscape and needs.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Minimum of 8 years in communications at a global corporation or equivalent experience. 
  • Critical thinking and a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with proven ability to thoroughly and concisely advise on communications strategies, build relationships with internal and external audiences and effectively manage a company’s reputation.
  • Track record successfully managing internal and external communications at a global company including ability to collaborate with colleagues across the globe and understand cultural differences to ensure appropriate messaging.
  • Experience in successfully pitching journalists and developing media opportunities for high profile brands and executives. 
  • A strong team orientation and experience required, with organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work under pressure and influence and lead positive change as an effective team leader and business partner.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Experience in corporate DEI Communications, Financial Services and Crisis Communications 
  • Direct experience with DEI media a plus.
