The Team: 

Upstart’s Servicing team plays a critical role in ensuing a seamless experience for our borrowers. Its focus is on optimizing processes, driving efficiency, and delivering high-quality service at scale. The team's impact is central to Upstart’s mission of transforming lending and empowering financial wellness.


As an Administrative Assistant  at Upstart, you will provide vital support to the GM of Servicing and the broader servicing team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations through efficient calendar management, travel coordination, and expense reporting. This role will be instrumental in planning team events and offsites, while also anticipating needs and proactively addressing challenges. By enabling the team to focus on strategic initiatives, the Administrative Assistant will contribute directly to the success and growth of the Servicing organization.

 

Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Columbus, Austin, San Mateo, or Remote 

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on either the East, Central, or West Coast time zones.

Travel Requirements - This team has regular on-site collaboration sessions six times annually split between our San Mateo or Columbus office locations. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Upstart will cover all travel related expenses.

 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Calendar and Meeting Management: Seamlessly coordinate and manage dynamic schedules across multiple time zones, ensuring all meetings and appointments align with priorities.
  • Travel Coordination: Arrange and manage complex travel itineraries, accommodating frequent time zone changes while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Expense Management: Handle timely and accurate expense reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Onsite Planning and Support: Collaborate closely with the other leads on the team  to plan and execute quarterly onsites and team events, including logistics and agendas.
  • Task Ownership: Proactively anticipate the lead’s needs, managing tasks with minimal guidance and integrating fully into the team’s operations.
  • Team Support: Provide ad hoc administrative support to the broader team, including project coordination and team communications.

 

What we’re looking for: 

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Experience: 2+ years of administrative assistant experience, preferably supporting executives or senior leaders.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides).
    • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex schedules.
    • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally across all levels of the organization.
    • Availability Flexibility: Willingness to adjust working hours to accommodate time zone changes, without exceeding scheduled hours.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Event Planning: Experience supporting onsite planning, including logistics coordination and agenda creation.
    • Adaptability: Ability to work autonomously, problem-solve, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Travel Coordination Expertise: Familiarity with arranging multi-leg travel itineraries across different time zones.
    • Team Integration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly integrate into a team and foster collaborative relationships.
    • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with Slack, Zoom, and other collaboration tools.
