SUSE has a wide field of advanced technologies and offers developers with an open and curious mind a great opportunity to apply and grow their skills.</span></p><p></p><p><span><u><b>Work Location:</b></u></span> Home Office where we have legal entity in Europe, Brazil or Mexico, or if you prefer a hybrid or fully on-site we have our offices in Prague (Czech Republic), Sofia (Bulgaria).</p><p><br/><u><b>Job Description</b></u></p><p>We are currently looking for a <b>Virtualization Software Engineer</b><b> (Kubevirt)</b> to develop, maintain and support our SUSE KVM Virtualization stack (KVM hypervisor, linux kernel, kubevirt, libvirt, QEMU, libguestfs),<br/>and more specifically the <b>Kubevirt</b> component, delivering to SUSE Linux Enterprise and SUSE Rancher products.</p><p></p><p><u><b>Your Responsibilities</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Improve the virtualization technology upstream, collaborate in the upstream communities</p></li><li><p>Develop and integrate features downstream, contribute to the build process</p></li><li><p>Debug our KVM stack in response to bug reports</p></li><li><p>Draft and execute simple test plans for features and performance</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>About You: Are you ready for the world-switch?</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Linux experience in the area of <b>Containers</b> is Required</p></li><li><p>Full proficiency with Linux, <b>git</b> and <b>Golang</b> is Required</p></li><li><p>Experience in reproducing, analyzing and resolving software bugs is Required</p></li><li><p>Existing experience with Kubevirt is of course a Big plus</p></li><li><p>Proven track record of working in upstream projects is a Big plus<br/><br/> </p></li><li><p>Knowledge in the area of KVM virtualization is a Plus</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of Kubernetes is a Plus</p></li><li><p>Experience in one or more CPU architectures is a Plus</p></li><li><p>Additional programming languages are good to have<br/><br/> </p></li><li><p>Able to collaborate within a very distributed international team across timezones</p></li><li><p>Able to pursue high level goals independently, self-driven and motivated, flexible responding to change</p></li><li><p>Fluent in English</p><p></p></li></ul><p><span><u>What you need to do now</u></span></p><p>If you’re interested, click Apply now to upload your up-to-date CV in English.
