Senior Front End Engineer

As a key member of the Software Development team, the Senior Front End Software Engineer will play a vital role in designing, coding, and enhancing software applications in alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate is highly technical, passionate about creating exceptional user experiences, and dedicated to producing clean, maintainable code. This role involves not only hands-on development but also providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to fellow Front End Software Engineers.

Senior Front End Engineers will actively participate in refining and expanding the front-end development architecture, advocating best practices, and enhancing the team's overall technical capabilities. They will also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior team members, guiding them toward excellence in coding standards and development methodologies. Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):

• Work on a team in an Agile environment 
• Build robust and scalable software applications within a team 
• Troubleshoot software development related issues 
• Perform thorough code reviews on open pull requests 
• Attend and participate in weekly developer meetings 
• Work collaboratively with the QA team to make sure code is fully tested 
• Contribute whenever possible to the developer knowledgebase 
• Learn and understand existing applications in our software ecosystem 
• Propose new ideas and be an active participant in group conversations
• Stay current with changing technical trends in the logistics industry 

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Basic (Required)

• Associates Degree in a technical or related field and 3 years of professional level experience or at least 5 years of professional level experience 
• Expert at building HTML based applications
• Advanced understanding of PHP or similar language  
• Good understanding of SQL databases 
• Good understanding of software design patterns 
• Basic understanding of a version control system (i.e. Git or SVN) 
• Confidence to learn all aspects of a software development project 
• Strong technical and non-technical communication skills 

Preferred

• Expert with Laravel PHP 
• Advanced understanding of ReactJS 
• Advanced understanding of PostgreSQL 
• Advanced understanding of Linux based operating systems 
• Advanced understanding of UI/UX design best practices 
• Basic understanding of virtualization technologies such as Docker 
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines 
• Experience working with a QA team 
• Experience working in a small team 
• Experience working with Agile-Scrum methodology
