What We Do

Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment, and summer learning. In the past few years, Woodcraft has expanded its menu of services beyond traditional afterschool programs and summer camps to include early learning, environmental and social justice, college access, and inclusion services for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, we offer LifeCraft, a college and career advancement program to support the development of approximately 2,000 staff. Today, Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 30,000 youth ages 4 to 18 each year across 150 plus Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, and continues to expand its reach.

Role Overview:

The Academic Manager works closely with the Director of Academic Support Services to oversee the development and implementation of the academic program and provide direct academic and classroom management support to field and office staff. The Academics Manager ensures that field staff have access to quality materials, high-interest activities, and adhere to program objectives.

The Academics Manager ensures that projects are being prioritized and completed by established target dates and meet the needs of students and partners across various program locations. This is a hybrid work position. The Academics Manager will be expected to frequently work in the office, in the field at program locations, and has the flexibility to work from home when the schedule permits.

Responsibilities:
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Academic Support Services, evaluate curriculum, instruction, and learning environments to ensure quality academic content and support, accessibility and success for all students
  • Curate, adapt and distribute academic materials that meet diverse student needs and align with partner goals
  • Ensure programs are structured to support best practices in classroom management and instruction<
