About the role

Job Summary: The Environmental Service Rep is responsible for answering the telephone, screening calls, and taking messages. Coordinates assignments through Supervisor by dispatching requests and services to appropriate personnel. Monitors and assigns housekeeping duties in LLEAP system. Schedules conference room bookings and opens and distributes mail. Receives and orders office supplies. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required.  Minimum three years of clerical, environmental service or related experience required.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of LLEAP system preferred. Must be able to key a minimum of 30 wpm. Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Excel, Outlook; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; must have strong customer service skills. Must be able to communicate questions or problems to supervisors and/or management. Must be able to follow directions and ask questions in the case of any uncertainty; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple step instructions; ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables. Ability to take directions and carry them out completely and efficiently; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimum supervision; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position

Licensures and Certifications: Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification preferred.
