Director, AI Governance

The AI Governance leader will define and implement Datavail's enterprise-wide AI governance framework, ensuring responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies across all business units. This role is pivotal in aligning AI initiatives with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and organizational objectives, while mitigating risks such as bias, model drift, and data exposure

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Framework Development
• Design and maintain AI governance policies, procedures, and standards that complement existing data governance frameworks
• Establish oversight mechanisms for AI systems, including fairness, transparency, and accountability controls
• Develop charters and governance models for cross-functional AI governance teams

Risk Management & Compliance
• Implement controls to address emerging risks such as prompt injection attacks, bias, and explainability
• Ensure compliance with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act) and internal security protocols

Operational Oversight
• Define standards for AI model testing, auditing, and output contesting
• Oversee continuous monitoring of AI systems for performance, ethical compliance, and security vulnerabilities

•Collaboration & Leadership
• Lead cross-functional governance committees involving IT, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on AI governance trends and best practices

Qualifications
• 7+ years in data governance, AI governance, or related fields; experience in enterprise-scale governance frameworks
• Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, data privacy regulations, and risk management principles
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
• Certifications in AI ethics, data governance, or cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure) preferred
