Salary range: $30.04 - $41.23 per hour
Job Description
**This position will work from STCU Headquarters in Liberty Lake, Washington and have an emphasis on virtual instructor-led training. Qualified candidates will work in person in Liberty Lake, Washington. **
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the design, development, administration, and implementation of learning experiences across multiple platforms, as well as the facilitation of virtual instructor-led training, webinars, and other modalities. This position will maintain an advisory level of understanding on all related regulatory, procedural and system changes impacting the retail functions, and the implementation of any necessary curriculum modifications. This position will research, recommend, and implement best practices in learning methods, instructional design, and technology supporting initial, ongoing, and just in time skill development. They serve as a mentor to others on the team.
Core Job Requirements/Outcomes:
- Maximize training impact by facilitating and producing virtual instructor-led training experiences ensuring classes are engaging and interactive, and that they build and enhance skills, knowledge, and abilities of retail teams, as well as learning transfer.
- Design and develop powerful learning activities and course content for virtual-led experiences by utilizing various learning tools and delivery methods including, but not limited to, virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, self-directed, video, micro lessons, and other modalities that support a positive employee and member experience through learner success.
- Research, recommend, and implement training updates by reviewing new virtual learning techniques and best practices in training, instructional design, evaluation, and technology, and serving as a mentor to the team ensuring the needs and goals of all staff are met.
Other Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain internal eLearning courses and videos through the LMS, collaborating closely with SME’s on course content and serve as publisher for courses, maintaining compatibility between courses and the learning management system.
- Contribute as an effective and collaborative project team member for department initiatives and cross-functional projects by completing all tasks and assignments in a timely manner, implementing fully remote learning strategies, prioritizing, and executing on multiple tasks.
- Establish criteria used to evaluate a learner’s performance, and proactively monitor support channels to identify and report out on additional training needs, update existing curriculums and/or develop supplemental training to ensure training gaps are addressed, and guarantee overall employee effectiveness.
- Maintain working knowledge of the LMS to track and monitor retail curriculums, add and remove events, sessions, and participants as needed, ensure notifications are accurate, and pull evaluations and reports.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in training, adult learning, instructional or multimedia design, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Job Experience: Minimum of three years’ directly related experience in learning development, instructional design methodology, delivery, and implementation, including experience using authoring tools, video equipment, and design software. One year experience working on cross-functional project teams within STCU or three years’ experience working on cross-functional project teams outside of STCU. A strong understanding of banking and retail operations is required.
