Purpose

This position will perform essential functions to assist with onboarding new physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) who join UTHA, Ambulatory Clinics, as well as ensuring completion of continued education and training required.

Provider Orientation and On-boarding

  • Help develop and implement on-boarding strategy for new physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) in conjunction with relevant UT Health Austin departments.

  • Help develop standardized and role specific employee orientation materials.

  • Acts as resource person to assist new physicians and advanced practice providers (APP) in successfully completing job-specific orientation.

Staff Development

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting required training and in-service programming to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

  • Continuously evaluates physician and advanced practice provider (APP) development and training programs and participant feedback. Coordinates internal or external training programs/vendors as assigned.

  • Ensure site follows HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Coordinate with senior staff for quality and compliance.

  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.

Program Evaluation

  • Participate in quality audits and clinical policy and procedure review. Ensures new policies and procedures, guidelines, or other updates are updated within clinical onboarding and training programs.

  • Collaborate with human resources, the medical staff office and employee health to maintain up-to-date personnel files with each employee’s educational information, clinical licensure and certifications, immunization records and continuing education requirements at onboarding and throughout employment.

  • Participate in performance improvement plans as needed for retraining

Marginal/Incidental Functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years healthcare training experience. Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-physician practice environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers and other UT Health Austin departments.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors of Science in Nursing with at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience. Active Texas (multi-state) RN licensure in good standing.  A good understanding of the care ecosystem in Travis County around social services, transportation, etc. is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Salary Range

$70,000+ depending on qualifications
