Status: Non-Exempt, full-time
Reports to: Northern California Regional Development Manager
Travel required: Some travel required, including air & train travel, car rentals, and overnight stays.


Organization Overview

Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes, and implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services and health care sectors.

Program Summary

The Brilliant Corners Supportive Housing Development Program launched in 2008 and quickly became California’s largest housing partner in the historic shift from institutional settings to community-based housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our development team is comprised of acquisition/rehabilitation specialists who have rapidly scaled statewide to create over 200 community-based residential care facilities connected with the historic closure of four State Developmental campuses. With our newly formed multifamily development program, we are excited to start to fulfill our vision of expanding our multifamily housing impact across the State.

Position Summary

Provide administrative support to the Housing Development Team by assisting with: keeping up to date records, composing accurate and complete compliance reports to funders, regulatory agencies and partners. Ensure that department policies and procedures are followed while processing invoices, coordinating property viewings/acquisitions and contract executions.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • BA in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 2 – 5 years’ work experience in a related field or office setting.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Excel Primarily)



Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaboratewith Project Partners and staff, while still enforcing program policies.
  • Ability to write reports and funding applications that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to Development Team, Management and Partners.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, and area.
  • Ability to apply basic math and geometry concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical publications, financial reports, and legal documents.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to all levels of Development Team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with project stake holders and partners.
  • Create new files for all site acquisitions and related escrows.
  • Assist in due diligence of site screening, selection, and acquisition.
  • Verifying required documents per Brilliant Corners policies, housing guidelines, and acquisition checklists
  • Coordination, execution, collection, recording and management of contractual documents, primarily: regulatory, notary, loan, escrow and RFP’s, for Development Team.
  • Assist in obtaining appropriate signatures/approvals and transferring all financial information to appropriate departments for further processing.
  • Processes invoicing for vendors through all phases of development.
  • Support agency funding requests and other government applications.
  • Involvement with agency funding requests for properties and other government applications.
  • Reconcile billing, invoices, profit/loss statements after project completion.
