Hours: Part-Time / 20 hours a week / Evenings / 3pm-11pm/ e

  • Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive listOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 

  • 1. Assists the Operating Room team with specific routine clinical activities. acts under the Supervision of a Registered Nurse during surgical procedures. 

    2. Sets up daily procedure rooms, with established surgical protocols and physician preferences.  

    3. Turns over procedure rooms in a timely manner.  

    4. Prepares surgical equipment and instruments for specific proceduresDemonstrates and verbalizes knowledge of aseptic technique. 

    5. Circulates regularly throughout unit to assist nurses and physicians as needed in pre-, intra- and post-procedure.  

    6. Escorts patients into the procedure rooms and obtains baseline vital signs and connects patient to monitoring equipment.  

    7. Under the review of the RN, obtains pre-procedure data, including but not limited to; height, weight, allergies, NPO status, post-procedure ride contact and call back number  

    8. Assists during procedures as appropriate. Assumes responsibilities specific to the role of the Patient Care Technician.  

Job Description 

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. High School diploma or equivalent. 

2. One (1) year of experience in a healthcare including staffing and scheduling

  • Excellent interpersonal, phone and organizational skills required. Must be able to work with detailed, confidential material and to work independently. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Associate or bachelor’s degree. 

2. Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare including staffing and scheduling. 

3. Medical transcription experience.
