Safety Manager, TX

Safety Worxs is seeking a local Safety Manager in Austin, TX to join a dynamic team on a 4 month roadway project. 

Responsibilities:

• Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met. 
• Support the implementation of safety-related programs that meet company safety standards. 
•  Assist in the investigation of accidents, determining root causes, and recommending corrective/ preventive measures. 
• Perform and document job site inspections and audits, focusing on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors. 
•  Coordinate and conduct safety meetings to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees. 
•  Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure federal and state regulations compliance. 
•  Provide employees with training on critical safety topics such as Confined Space Entry (CSE), Fall Protection, Forklift Operation, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), Silica Awareness, and other job-specific safety requirements. 
• Carry out any other assigned tasks the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager gives. 

Qualifications:

• Spanish/English Bilingual
• CHST or CSHO
• Able to train in CSE, fall protection, forklift, MEWP, silica
• 5 years heavy civil, TXDOT work
