3DP Machine Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:
The Machine Maintenance Technician, with assistance, will perform maintenance of the production equipment according to maintenance schedules, work instructions established and direction from the Process Engineer and/or Production Manager. This position is for Sunday - Thursday 10:30am - 7pm in the SLA department.
Specific Duties Include:
- Maintain machines to produce consistent parts of the highest quality
- Troubleshoot and repair machines
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance to minimize machine down time
- Establish written procedures for machine maintenance and repair
- Train others to carry out the procedures
- Make improvements in reliability and functionality of machines
- Design and build parts to improve machine performance
- Design and execute experiments to determine the root cause of build failures
- Assist with process issues
- Observe all Protolabs Safety and Quality Procedures
- Follow all company safety policies established for working with lasers and machine maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Work schedule flexibility to adjust to maintenance scheduling with hours as outlined by manager
- Ability to work safely in a congested environment
- Ability to analyze data for problem resolution
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 year degree with technical/Engineering focus preferred (DMLS/SLS)
- One year experience as an SLA technician
Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is expected to sit and stand for the entire shift, lift up to 50 pounds waist high, carry up to 50 pounds alone. Essential job duties require reaching, bending, and grasping. Able to read machine-shop gages and indicators. Protective safety precautions required (safety glasses/laser protective eye wear, lab coat, gloves, respiratory protection).
