The Role
Moderna is looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join the Contract Operations Team as a Senior Associate. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely implementation of Market Access contracts and processing of payments such as Chargebacks, Admin Fees, Rebates, and Distribution Fees.


The Senior Associate will play a key role in resolving operational issues, improving processes, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support the success of Moderna’s Market Access initiatives. The position requires a strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to the needs of a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Manage and ensure accurate and timely payments for Chargebacks, Admin Fees, Rebates, and Distribution Fees by collaborating with internal teams and external Wholesaler partners.

  • Support the Chargeback and Rebate process by working with Moderna’s outsourced service providers to meet company objectives.

  • Proactively identify and resolve Pricing, Membership, Chargeback, and Rebate issues by analyzing root causes and proposing process improvements.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Operations, Finance, Digital, and Sales) and external partners (e.g., Wholesalers, Distributors) to ensure smooth workflows and transparency across processes.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly reports on payment activities and trends. Use insights to recommend enhancements to operational efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and assist in audits by providing documentation and supporting reviews.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration in contract operations.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in contract administration, pricing, or Market Access within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Experience with contract management systems and processes, including Chargebacks, Rebates, and Membership management.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Operational Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical market dynamics, including pricing, reimbursement, and contracting processes.

  • Experience in processing and managing contract payments and resolving disputes effectively.

  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and contract governance frameworks.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to identify operational issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.

  • Experience using data insights from reporting to enhance processes and support decision-making.

  • Collaboration and Communication Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working across teams to align priorities and improve workflows.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical processes clearly.

  • Organizational Skills:

  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and adapting to changing demands.
