We’re looking for a Senior Operations Business Analyst to provide a variety of services for the Operations and to act as a liaison between Operations and key operational partners such as IT, Clinical, and Compliance. In consultation with business owners and subject matter experts, this resource must be able to draft policies, processes, and business requirements as well as develop test plans and perform/oversee user acceptance testing. This role drives establishing optimized workflows to support high quality, efficiency, and effectiveness throughout Operations and will regularly conduct data analysis to recommend and implement improvements (including automation) for business processes. You will:· Support medium to large, complex enterprise funded projects that have operational impact· Lead small to medium cross-functional department sponsored projects to complete a framework of deliverables to include policy, processes, procedures, testing, and training· Capture business requirements in traditional Waterfall and/or Agile User Story formats for delivery to development teams· Analyze, evaluate, and document business processes using formal process improvement methodology techniques (e.g. six sigma)· Request and analyze data to baseline process metrics (time/accuracy) and project how improvements will impact them; deliver process monitoring capabilities to process owners· Create, maintain, and prioritize a roadmap of automation opportunities· Plan and execute and/or lead comprehensive user acceptance and regression testing· Ensure effective hand off of new and changed functionality to impacted production teams; including demos, documentation and training· Mentor others seeking to learn business analyst skills You bring:· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience· 6+ years of experience in business/process analysis in health insurance· Operational knowledge of claims administration, membership, providers, benefits, premium billing, medical terms, pricing logic, etc.· History of participating in complex processes and multi-layered projects· Formal training in process improvement methodology (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)· Demonstrated ability to analyze/translate data; intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel· Experience designing and implementing operational software; knowledgeable about SDLC Extra credit:· Previous startup company experience· Javelina claims system experience· Business Analyst and/or Product Owner certification· Project Management and/or Scrum Master Certification· Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification Competitive pay is standard.
