Job Summary
Dr. Leah Schinasi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at Drexel University, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Research Assistant to support research activities for the NIH-funded Housing Environment and Ambient Temperature Study.
The Research Assistant will play a key role in conducting literature reviews, assisting with table generation, supporting Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, and contributing to administrative and research tasks as needed. This position also offers opportunities for engagement in manuscript development and writing.
Essential Functions
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings related to housing, ambient temperature, and health. - (Essential)
- Assist with the development and formatting of tables and figures for presentations, reports, and publications. - (Essential)
- Support IRB submissions and other administrative tasks related to research compliance. - (Essential)
- Participate in general project activities, including organizing data, tracking study progress, and coordinating research meetings. -
- 15% - Contribute to manuscript development and writing, including drafting sections and reviewing scientific literature. - (Essential)
- 10% - Perform other duties as needed to support the research team. - (Essential)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with literature searches using academic databases (e.g., PubMed, Web of Science).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reference management software (e.g., Zotero, EndNote).
- Familiarity with research ethics and IRB processes is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information
This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
