  • Selecting and implementing low-void solder pastes, optimizing stencil designs and screen-print parameters.

  • Developing thermal reflow profiles to minimize voiding in LGA and BTC components.

  • Implementing nitrogen-assisted reflow strategies to enhance solder wetting and reduce oxidation.

  • Programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting SMT equipment, including printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI, and X-ray inspection systems.

  • Managing MSL component handling and controlled dry-storage protocols to maintain component integrity.

  • Defining inspection criteria and analyzing process and X-ray data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.

  • Leading preventive maintenance and equipment calibration programs to ensure long-term reliability and repeatability.

  • Collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to support design transfer, process validation, and new product introduction (NPI).

  • Partnering with vendors and cross-functional teams to drive process innovation, automation, and technology advancement across PET detector manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in SMT process engineering within a regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, or automotive preferred).

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, IPC-A-610, J-STD, and related standards.

  • Demonstrated expertise in SMT process development, equipment programming, and defect analysis.

  • Familiarity with regulated documentation practices and change-control systems for medical device manufacturing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset.
