Product Counsel

The Opportunity Cambly is hiring a second lawyer to its Legal team. The role reports to the General Counsel, and is a true tech generalist position in a successful, early stage startup. You’ll have broad scope and opportunity to shape the product and processes that will help the company scale its business around the globe. This is a career inflection point opportunity that will look radically different from practicing law at a big firm or in big tech.

The RequirementsThe best candidates will have deep experience counseling technology clients or already work in-house in a product counsel-type of role. They will have an appreciation for and understanding of different conditions in different international jurisdictions like China, Brazil, and the Middle East.
The best of the best will be able to contribute outside of their core areas of expertise, for example, by tackling the legal complexities of managing labor forces and consumer interests around the world.
Candidates must have a J.D. from a top school and be a member of the California Bar in good standing or registered in-house. This role is located in San Francisco, with a hybrid in-office schedule (M, T, Th).

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the expected base salary range for this position is shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Compensation Range:$150,000-$225,000 USD base salary + pre-IPO stock option grant
