Description
The Manufacturing Operations Leader is responsible for leading and managing the performance of multiple facilities including safety, quality, environmental, manufacturing, and distribution on-time delivery, conversion costs, compliance, and engagement. This role will be the one to ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing current processes, driving operational improvements, and building out Manufacturing and Distribution strategy. The role will also effectively develop and coach their direct reports to support daily initiatives, align department objectives with the business strategy, engage the workforce with increased expectations, and hold the workforce accountable for results. Comfort Research is in large part a made-to-order atmosphere, so the individual in this role must understand appropriate urgency and that the priority is to deliver to our customers. They must also have the ability to mix day-to-day needs in with a continuous improvement focus forward.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily execution of tasks and interactions with others.
- Coach Operations Managers and other key management personnel on effective manufacturing and distribution operations, EHS programs, and overall compliance ensuring the operation of the plants meets regulations and Company standards.
- Interact as a key member of the Leadership Team.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and mentor others, enabling the success of the cost savings initiatives and gross margin growth.
- Drive team direction, leadership, evaluation, and motivation via periodic performance and communication meetings with all employees to share corporate vision, plant performance status, change management, involvement activities, training, and motivational efforts.
- Establish and implement business processes for production planning, monitoring of critical production metrics, and delivering the goals of the business.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement in the areas of cost, quality, service, and best manufacturing practices.
- Partner with Quality and Engineering to address customer feedback issues.
- Support actions initiated to prevent the occurrence or reoccurrence of nonconformities relating to product, processes, and quality system requirements.
- Partner with Engineering on the successful transfer and qualification of new items into production to support the growth of the business.
- Ensure full operational compliance with all site procedures and applicable regulations.
- Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance are included as part of everyday activities.
- Works with managers to improve employee engagement in safety, health, and environmental initiatives.
- Willing to travel regularly, sometimes up to 25% as needed. as this role will lead sites/teams in UT, TN, NC, and MI.
- Oversee the performance, development, and growth of direct reports through goal setting, evaluations, and mentorship, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team.
- Leverage employee engagement survey data to inform action plans aimed at enhancing team performance and satisfaction; analyze survey results, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted initiatives to foster a more engaged and productive workforce, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Support the Operations team in shared goals and initiatives.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or applicable years of experience. Focus of study preferred: Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
