Retail Operations Technology Manager

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Retail Operations Technology Manager, based out of Williamsburg Brooklyn. This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced individual to work closely with the leadership team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, hardworking, and can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment (and loves ice cream!).

As a Retail Operations Technology Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Operations Innovations function across all tech- and IT-related initiatives;  this includes the operational implementation of new support software, overseeing existing and new store technology systems, and building Van Leeuwen’s technology infrastructure to increase performance, automation, and scalability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Technology Support 

• Manage the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of hardware and software systems that support our shop operations
• Serve as the point of contact for shop troubleshooting within our IT infrastructure
• Coordinate with a master service provider for any shop tech troubleshooting needs
• Launch and maintain a master device management program for existing shop and field operator hardware
• Support the technology implementation for all new store openings

Systems Administration 

• Own the management of our menu infrastructure within our operational technical systems (e.g. POS, digital menu boards, 3rd party delivery systems, inventory management)
• Coordinate with shops to ensure digital menus are up-to-date and accurate
• Coordinate with 3rd party providers and our integration platform to ensure our digital storefronts are accurate and maximizing value
• Build guidelines and processes for the onboarding and offboarding of operational tech systems for shop operators

New System Implementation Support 

• Support the implementation of new operations technology (e.g. labor management tool, inventory management system, execution platforms) from initial diligence through pilot and rollout
• Build guidelines and processes to enhance network security, account security, and ensure PCI compliance
• Provide boots-on-the-ground support for the rollout and troubleshooting of new initiatives

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 5 to 7+ years of success leading technology teams, technology projects, from strategic and tactical planning through implementation, analysis, and design
• Proven ability to convey technical information to a technical and nontechnical audience  on a regular basis
• Advanced knowledge of both general IT systems (e.g. Google Suite, Microsoft Suite)
• Experience with restaurant operations technology (e.g. 3P aggregators, Square POS, inventory management, digital menu boards)
• Occasional travel required

The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
