We are seeking an Accountant II who will be responsible for managing basic accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
Audit:
- Assist with other department’s internal and external audit requirements.
- Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of audit-related deliverables and confirmations.
General Accounting:
- Clearly document support for and accurately process journal entries.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and document associated research and analysis.
- Use judgment to independently determine how to handle new transaction types to code to the general ledger appropriately.
- Perform bank reconciliations as assigned.
Communication:
- Identify and communicate potential process improvements or areas of concern to supervisor.
- Provide assistance with internal and external questions (i.e. from within the Accounting department and other departments within the Association or third parties outside the organization).
- Able to use external website portals or systems to maintain communication with related third parties.
- Able to interact with entities that have governance authority on standard recurring communications.
Bank Interactions:
- Initiate bank funds transfers (book transfers).
- Prepare wire transfer transactions in bank portals, ensuring that appropriate supporting documentation and internal approvals are maintained.
Continuous Education:
- Cross train with others in the Finance department in order to provide backup/support as needed.
- Active Learning - undertake educational and professional development activities as coordinated between the employee and supervisor.
May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Position qualifications required are the following:
- 0-3 year’s work experience required – Ideal for graduates or individuals with early career experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience – A degree in a related field is a plus; Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
- Team-oriented mindset – Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues and contributing to a dynamic team environment.
- Strong relationship-Building skills – Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain positive productive relationships with both internal departments and external business entities.
