Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager – Capital Projects to support the delivery of complex public-sector capital improvement projects. Working as part of an integrated project management team, this position will support the Senior Project Manager and assume primary responsibility for assigned project phases, work streams, and project management activities as projects progress through design, Design-Build procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

The Project Manager will coordinate consultants and contractors, monitor schedule and cost performance, manage project documentation, support procurement and construction activities, and help ensure assigned work is completed in accordance with established project requirements, program controls, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned project phases and work streams under the direction of the project’s Senior Project Manager.
  • Support delivery of capital projects through planning, design, Design-Build procurement, construction, commissioning, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Coordinate architectural, engineering, specialty consultant, contractor, and Design-Build team activities and deliverables.
  • Monitor consultant and contractor performance against established scope, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate and track design submissions, submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), design clarifications, action items, and other project deliverables.
  • Maintain project schedules, cost information, change documentation, risk registers, decision logs, and other project controls for assigned work streams.
  • Identify schedule, cost, quality, coordination, and delivery issues and support development of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Support Design-Build procurement activities, including preparation and coordination of RFQs, RFPs, solicitation documents, technical requirements, proposal evaluations, and procurement documentation.
  • Assist with consultant and contractor selection, proposal reviews, interviews, negotiations, and recommendation documentation.
  • Review design and construction documents for coordination, completeness, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Conduct project site visits to observe construction progress, document field conditions, identify potential issues, and support resolution of deficiencies.
  • Track punch-list items, deficiencies, corrective actions, and outstanding project issues through resolution.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, facility representatives, consultants, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and other project participants.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, action-item logs, project correspondence, presentations, and status reports.
  • Facilitate project coordination meetings and ensure decisions, responsibilities, and action items are clearly documented and tracked.
  • Support evaluation and processing of change requests, change orders, payment applications, cost proposals, and schedule impacts.
  • Assist with project risk identification, documentation, tracking, and mitigation.
  • Support permitting, regulatory coordination, utility coordination, and other project approval activities.
  • Support commissioning, testing, substantial completion, final completion, occupancy transition, turnover, and closeout activities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation in accordance with established document control and records management requirements.
  • Ensure assigned activities comply with applicable public-sector requirements, project procedures, building codes, standards, and contractual obligations.
