The Impact you will have in this role:   Operation Risk Management, (ORM) establishes protocols for analyzing, reporting, advancing, and mitigating operational risks. Ops Risk works with the business unit management and support functions to help them manage their operational risk exposures. The ORM Senior Manager has primary responsibility of maintaining the management control testing to control inventory, conduct management controls testing, and targeted risk assessments. The incumbent will implement and oversee day-to-day risk management activities (such as risk and controls assessments), manage deadlines and customer expectations, and lead or participate in projects within assigned areas of responsibility.  In carrying these responsibilities, the incumbent must work collaboratively with the Risk Management team, other risk & control functions, as well as with IT line management.  The incumbent will support reporting and presentations to senior management, the Board Risk Committee, and Regulatory Supervisors.

Your Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Preparing and providing management control testing results, updates supporting risk tolerance dashboard and updates supporting the IT Risk Profile
  • Support aspects of the department frame work just as monthly and quarterly reporting, development and analysis of risk scenarios, risk monitoring and assessment for new and emerging areas, and end to end process analysis and risk reduction initiatives
  • Proactively lead and support efforts to identify and mitigate risk, within assigned area(s) of responsibility 
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with business partners and risk control functions
  • Develop, communicate and ensure adherence to department risk policies, procedures and standard processes
  • Reassess existing processes and create new ones that most effectively anticipate, manage and reduce risk to DTCC and its participants
  • Foster an environment of regulatory awareness and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrate and embed the behaviors and competencies that create a risk management mentality in your organization
  • Lead and support ongoing staff education and coach and develop team members on effective risk management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a senior risk and control professional within a Big 4 accounting firm or financial services institution
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Knowledge of the security markets, post-trade processing and clearing and settlement infrastructure
