Veterinary Assistant

VCA Animal Hospital of Santa Cruz ​ is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our exceptional team! 

Location :  815 Mission Street, Santa Cruz CA 95060

Compensation: $ 20 - $ 25 / hr

Schedule: FT days including Saturdays

What You'll Do: 

As a member of VCA Animal Hospital of Santa Cruz, you will support the team by fostering a positive and low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Skills that will be utilized may include, but are not limited to: 

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and procedures 

• Kennel support responsibilities 

• Restrain animals safely and compassionately 

• Prepare and clean exam rooms 

• Assist with radiographs, lab sample collection, and basic in-house diagnostics 

• Maintain accurate medical records and support charting 

• Provide client education and ensure excellent service during visits 

• Support surgery prep and recovery as needed 

• Help maintain a clean, stocked, and organized hospital environment

Qualifications: 

• Previous experience in a veterinary setting as a Veterinary Assistant 

• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments 

• High school diploma or equivalent required
