Manager, AI Software Engineering

About the role:   

Blackbaud is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our growing AI team. You’ll manage talented engineers building core platform features that integrate Generative AI into our products. This role requires strong leadership, technical depth, and a passion for developing people and scalable solutions. 

What you’ll be doing:   

• Manage and coach a team of software engineers focused on Generative AI 

• Facilitate Agile processes and ensure team health and high delivery velocity 

• Partner with product, UX, and architecture teams to deliver features that delight customers 

• Provide technical oversight and unblock team challenges 

• Guide prompt engineering evaluations and LLM performance monitoring 

• Collaborate on platform design to ensure secure and scalable AI services 

• Advocate for quality, accessibility, and compliance across deliverables 

• Support professional development and career growth for team members 

• Track progress against goals and report regularly to stakeholders 

What we'll want you to have:   

• 6–10 years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in management. 

• Experience leading teams delivering AI/ML projects in production environments. 

• Strong technical background in data science, MLOps, and cloud-native development. 

• Strong foundation in .NET Core, C#, and modern front-end frameworks like Angular 

• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and team management best practices 

• Proven leadership and communication skills, with a passion for coaching and developing others.
