Eligibility Requirements
- Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
- Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester
- Must have a federal need of at least $2,000
- Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
- Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
- Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident

Join the Student Financial Services team as a Student Assistant, where you'll gain hands-on skills in customer service, office administration, and financial operations. From cashiering and handling inquiries to supporting staff with essential tasks, this role offers a behind-the-scenes look at how campus finances run smoothly. You'll also represent the department at events like orientations and advising fairs, becoming a trusted resource for your peers. Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
- Provide customer service in person, over the phone, and/or by email.
- Assist with clerical functions (i.e., file/scan paperwork, maintain an organized working environment, make deliveries around campus, etc.).
- Represent Student Financial Services at campus events such as orientation and advising fairs.
- Cashier at the Student Financial Services window and/or campus events.
- Serve as dual custodian of cash transactions.
- Assist staff with various daily functions, such as but not limited to payroll, returned warrants, stale dated checks, dunning letters, payment agreements, and Google Docs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.
Required Qualifications:
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cash handling experience, professional demeanor, discretion, and tact.
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applications.
- Attention to detail.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Full-time student.
- Have and maintain a preferred minimum of a 2.5 GPA and be in good academic standing.
- Possess proper phone etiquette.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
- Be a team player.
- Possess high ethical and confidentiality standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle competing priorities.
Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Position Information:
Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
