Position Overview
The Innovation Project Manager will lead teams to create and deliver innovation project(s) that span across one or more business units while creating a culture of innovation through employee and customer engagement and ideations. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to safety, quality and control guidelines throughout the full development life cycle which advance our capabilities to provide Engineered and Integrated Solutions to customers in our core end markets of Water, Energy, Communications, and Transportation. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time innovation project delivery. This position will be a change agent, driving organizational alignment across business units to harmonize our approaches to Innovation, new product development (NPD), and product and service management processes.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Manage a portfolio of complex innovation initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business with a customer centric mindset

Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor innovation initiatives simultaneously

Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of IPG strategic objectives

Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence – One CRH

Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for IPG

Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project

Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes (internal and external)

Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings

Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across IPG business leadership

Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, business and customer needs

Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address customer goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices

Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders

Define the Statement of Work, Scope and Specifications for the requested goods and services

Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues

Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results

Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders

Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

Support development of 3rd party engagements to accelerate university partnerships, technology incubators, and other research endeavors
Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, or related field

Graduate degree preferred, with a specialization in relevant fields (i.e., product management, strategic marketing, new product development, research & development, commercial excellence, or other related disciplines)
