GXM is seeking to hire an experienced and talented Computer Network Operations (CNO) Developer Lead IV with a passion for designing, developing, and maintaining tools and systems that support network operations, security, and defense. A candidate should have the ability to create software applications used for monitoring, managing, securing, and defending computer networks. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity, programming, and network protocols, with the ability to build and maintain advanced software tools for cyber defense operations.
The Computer Network Operations (CNO) Developer Lead IV will provide team and technical leadership in the designing, developing, documenting, testing, debugging and maintenance of hardware or software based CNO capabilities. They will apply their knowledge of security concepts and networks to their work, while effectively communicating project status to leadership and customers. Ensuring compliance with software standards will be a primary focus of their role. The Computer Network Operations (CNO) Developer Lead IV is an SME position and supervises and mentors subordinate ICON Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions based on business needs and technical requirements.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code that follows best practices and coding standards.
- Implement new features and functionality as required.
- Work with architects and other developers to define software architecture and system design.
- Develop custom software and scripts to support network defense, security monitoring, and offensive cyber operations.
- Build systems and software for monitoring network activity, identifying security threats, and responding to incidents in real-time.
- Work closely with other cybersecurity professionals, including security analysts, incident responders, and system administrators, to integrate network operations tools into broader security frameworks.
- Identify and resolve software defects, bugs, and performance issues in a timely manner.
- Perform code reviews with team members to ensure quality and consistency of the codebase.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for software systems, APIs, and features.
- Use version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) for managing and tracking changes to the codebase.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, Swift, Go).
- Experience with frameworks, libraries, and tools for software development (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js, Django, .NET, Spring).
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and web services.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and CI/CD pipelines.
- MUST BE A US CITIZEN
- TS/SCI, CI Poly Required
- Must be able to work on-site (National Business Park) 5 days a week
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12+ years of experience in an IT related field or similar role
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ programming
- Proficiency in low-level internals in one or more technology areas (e.g., Windows, Unix, Mobile, Network devices)
- Proficiency with networking (TCP/IP) and socket level programming
Desired certifications/qualifications
- CNO capability development experience
- Software Analysis/Reverse Engineering experience
- Understanding of assembly programming concepts
- Unit Test experience
- Experience using Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible)
- Relevant industry standard certifications such as Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (PCEP) or C++ Certified Professional Programmer Certification (CPP). Experience with CI/CD pipeline/DevSecOps development
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
