Position Summary:

The Payroll Specialist position is responsible for the coordination of the bi-weekly payroll processes, maintaining a variety of employee records, maintaining compliance, and serving as the first point of contact for payroll related questions. The Payroll Specialist will also assist with HRIS maintenance and reporting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accurate preparation and processing one or more full cycle multi-state monthly and bi-weekly payrolls on the UltiPro System while following federal, state, and local wage laws.
• Process required documentation and forms related to payroll function.
• Generate, compile, and audit payroll reports for management.
• Maintain timekeeping systems to ensure proper functionality and load import files from timekeeping systems into payroll system.
• Maintain a proper document control system. 
• Complete audits to ensure data integrity within HRIS system. 
• Keep abreast of company policies and tax legislation that impact remuneration.
• Assist employees with payroll and HRIS related questions.
• Assist in system administration tasks.
• Performs other duties as required.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0-3 years of payroll experience. 
• Minimum 2-4 years' experience with HRIS, preferably UKG.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• UKG experience strongly preferred. 

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience with multi state payroll processing.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal payroll laws.
• Extremely detailed oriented.
• Ability to effectively prioritize, handle multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills are required.
• Knowledge of HR processes and data, as well as skills and knowledge of various reporting tools.
• Ability to handle payroll disbursement process with accuracy, confidentiality, and discretion.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Skilled in selected software programs and Microsoft Office.
• Able to function as a positive team member.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Occasional walking.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
• Frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time.

The national pay range for this role is $24 - 32/hourly. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
