Property Litigation Senior Claims Specialist

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for a Property Litigation Senior Claims Specialist that can report to any IAT location. This role will Investigate claims against insurance of other companies for personal, casualty or property loss or damages.
This role works a hybrid schedule from any IAT office. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Conclude extent of company’s liability and attempt to effect out-of-court settlement with claimant.
- Settle benefits claims and process claims for payment.
- Assess and answer inquires regarding claim adjudication, including method of payment, co-pay or deductible amounts and / or reason for denial.
- Request all information from inside or outside sources to ascertain completeness and validity of claim including coordination of benefits information.
- Handle exposure claims relative to one or more of the following: 1st and 3rd party liability, casualty, material damage, property, cargo, and medical, based on Claim Guidelines. Verify and analyze applicable coverage for the reported loss.
- Establish 24-hour contact and maintain appropriate contact with all involved stakeholders throughout the life of the claim file. Investigate each claim by gathering information, conducting interviews, taking statements, conducting website research as needed, reviewing and analyzing reports and related bills.
- Identify and address subrogation/contribution/SIU opportunities. Set accurate/timely loss/expense reserves in compliance with Claim Guidelines. Evaluate, negotiate, and authorize settlements with all stakeholders within designated authority.
- Select, direct and manage Vendors/Counsel including approval of defense budgets.
- Negotiate directly with claimants and claimant attorneys upon receipt of critical information.
- Draft correspondence, including but not limited to, coverage letters to stakeholders as required.
- Maintain resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required.
- May assign commercial auto as well as commercial and personal lines property claims to appropriate claim professionals as required for an equitable distribution of workload.
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, English, or Social Sciences related area. Foreign Degree equivalent accepted.
- 7 years of customer service experience in an insurance or related industry, any occupational title.
- 3 years of Property Claim handling experience
- 2 years of Litigated Property Claim handling.
- Valid resident/nonresident Adjuster License (any state).
- To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Compensation:
Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $68,345 – $108,280. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary
