Position Summary:

In this position you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and local tax and licensing for all jurisdictions in which Benco operates, with particular emphasis on state and local sales taxes compliance; maintaining sales tax engine and product tax matrix; leading sales tax audits, and assisting the Director of Tax with corporate tax compliance.

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

• Leads the research and interpretation of sales tax regulations as they apply to Benco products and services. Ensures products are mapped to the appropriate tax category to allow accurate taxation.
• Verifies the accuracy of the assignment of sales tax jurisdictions on customer records. Maintains Vertex (sales tax engine) by ensuring the state tax matrix is accurate and all system and taxability updates are made in a timely manner.
• Maintains the Exempt Customer Management System within Vertex to ensure we are in compliance with state exemption regulations to support exempt sales to customers.
• Cooperatively works with TIS to ensure integrity of ERP systems related to the determination, assessment, billing and reporting of sales tax data. Assures integrity of sales tax calculation within Vertex & Prelude.
• Assure sales tax reports used to file returns reconcile to general ledger monthly.
• Systematically and efficiently performs “self-audits” of state sales tax compliance to ensure ongoing accuracy of product tax matrices.
• Leads state sales tax audits and effectively challenges proposed audit assessments.
• Ensures the accurate, efficient, and timely filing of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns and the corresponding payment of sales tax for all states where Benco does business.
