About the Role
The Technical Project Engineer is a professional position that is responsible for efficient design development for AESC battery plant production facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining effective communication between members of AESC and selected contractors and ensuring timely completion of associated design development tasks. The Technical Project Engineer is expected to work across the organization to foster continuous improvement for long-term success. What You Will Do
- Work cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to continuously improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Attend and contribute to equipment design reviews by providing feedback on manufacturing best practices, equipment design, US regulation compliance, etc.
- Prepare documentation to convey critical information to contractors related to company standards, expectations, functional requirements, etc.
- Validation of needed equipment capacities/quantities and generation of installation, commissioning, and ramp-up schedules.
- Develop and maintain new plant layouts using AutoCAD 2D.
- Responsible for the integration of process and logistics equipment into the plant layout with strong consideration for people and material flow.
- Responsible for planning and mapping overall plant operator headcounts.
- Manages the procurement of necessary permits to enable timely building construction.
- Works directly with contractors to progress building and site design.
- Responsible for planning and procurement support for plant utilities such as water, electricity, and natural gas.
- Demonstrates data driven problem solving methodology and can effectively present work to all levels of management.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering etc.).
- 2-10 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility.
- Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and Data Driven Decision-Making skills.
- Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience is a plus.
- Must have good understanding of root cause analysis (RCA), problem solving techniques.
- High level of applicable technical skills with AutoCAD, Inventor, Statistics, Basic Engineering Principles and reporting of Technical Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience a plus.
- Ability to quickly obtain a working knowledge of lithium-ion batteries.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, OneNote, SharePoint).
- Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 and Bluebeam a plus.
- Independent, driven, eager to learn, has strong time management skills, and the ability to manage simultaneous and often changing priorities.
- New model experience and equipment design, installation, and commissioning.
- New plant design, build, and commissioning a plus.
- Working knowledge of project management related to the introduction of products to market.
- Able to work with and lead contractors through the process of RFP to commissioning of equipment.
- Ability to follow specific direction and to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with contributing to the creation of reports, dashboards, and presentations.
