Poultry Selection Manager

Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an outstanding individual who will be responsible for coordinating the gathering of selection data for the R&D program, focusing on traits that impact live performance, meat yield, and flock health. Role is to facilitate/ensure record collection as directed by R&D. This is a salaried position and raises are based on appraisals of job performance.

Skills/Attributes:

• Self-motivator with ability to perform selection tasks accurately/efficiently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with in-house software
• Willingness to travel between grow, rear and lay farms
• Must be a hands-on leader, willing to work alongside team members in day-to-day operations as needed
• Management experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Train and lead selection team; ensure adherence to welfare protocols.
• Oversee collection and analysis of on-farm performance data.
• Implement genetic tools to help guide breeding decisions.
• Collaborate with live production, hatchery, nutrition, and health teams.
• Bi-weekly selection reports and oversight of R&D projects.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years experience in poultry production or related animal production.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and capacity to build familiarity with in-house software.

90% of role is on-farm; travel between farms required. Opportunities for domestic/international travel.
