Collins Aerospace is looking for a talented Sr. Procurement Manager to join our supply chain leadership team in Windsor Locks, CT.

You will support the Space Systems Windsor Locks procurement group within Mission Systems. This team is responsible for the procurement of a variety of materials including: machined parts, electronic parts and assemblies as well as major subcontract/engineered items (i.e., supplier-designed valves, motors, sensors, etc…).

What You Will Do:

• Manage buyers procuring critical major subcontract/engineered items (i.e., supplier-designed valves, motors, sensors, etc…) and Electronic Parts (EEE).
• Ensure timely placement of compliant Purchase Orders and oversee your team through all phases of the procurement process from source selection and negotiations to post-award administration.
• Oversee buyers assigned to supplier portfolios
• Negotiate procurement pricing on purchase orders.
• Coordinate the resolution of supplier issues, reviewing, and understanding supplier-generated program schedules, managing expectations to ensure on-time delivery of hardware and other deliverables.
• Completion of ad hoc reports and trackers and attend critical meetings to support Senior management.
• Limited domestic travel is required (10% to various suppliers stateside).

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Space/Aerospace/Defense industry experience.
• 8-10 years of direct procurement in a variety of major subcontract/engineered and electronic items (i.e., supplier-designed valves, motors, sensors, diodes, capacitors etc…).  in support of U.S. Government contracts and/or within the aerospace/defense industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of FAR, DFAR, NFS and Export Control (ITAR & EAR) requirements
• The ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical data
