Cruise is looking for an Operations Manager to enable us to test, improve and oversee the performance of our Field Support team.

In this position, you will lead our Field Support Coordinators, supporting multiple markets, dispatching support teams to assist with AVs.  You will closely collaborate with engineering, commercialization, service and other teams to implement field support operations and expand and scale our operation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Establish and drive the highest standards for Field Support operations to ensure everyone is operating safely

  • Manage a 24/7 team of Field Support Coordinators and contingent workers dispatching teams in the field at our Operations Control Center in Scottsdale

  • Develop relationships with multiple market leadership teams to manage fleet events

  • Provide feedback and updates to counterparts and leadership as needed on key issues and information

  • Drive continuous improvement through experimentation and process optimization in service of safely increasing vehicle utilization

  • Establish contingent and/or vendor partnerships, partner in the development and execution of the RFP process and establishing partner requirements

  • Hold contingent and vendor partners to KPIs

  •  Identify, and implement, opportunities to centralize labor to improve overall cost profile

  • Develop roadmap for tooling automation to drive down labor costs

  • Cross-train the team in adjacent centralized functions

  • Support team development and individual career goals

  • Be a culture carrier for Cruise

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, engineering, operations, or a related field

  • 6+ years of professional work experience in product/AV operations, management consulting, rideshare, mobility sectors, dispatch, and/or logistics

  • 3+ years of experience directly managing 24/7 teams

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, ability to ramp to new technologies quickly

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to handle dynamic assignments, including flexible schedules

  • Ability to keep calm and perform well under pressure

  • Comfort with ambiguity; bias to action

  • Ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and offer immediate, fair, and honest feedback when needed

  • Willingness to go above and beyond to fulfill the company’s mission

  • Experience leading safety critical operations in technology or automotive industries

  • Experience managing and deploying key assets

  • Experience dispatching teams across multiple markets

  • Entrepreneurial experience/ownership mentality or other innovation history

  • Competency in Jira, Jama, Lucidchart, Smartsheets, and/or Looker

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $147,100. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
