This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers the candidate applies standard engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Development, release, and support of engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and operations. Implements operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provides technical information. Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Specifies system components or directs product modifications to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations to maintenance crew. 

 

You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of designing, building, testing and flying Environmental Control and Life Support (ECLS) flight hardware.   The ECLS System consists of essential hardware that enables humans to safely inhabit space.   ECLSS circulates air around the vehicle, picking up carbon dioxide, humidity, and trace contaminants to be scrubbed, and provides oxygen for breathing.   The internal cabin pressure is maintained and monitored.   Clean drinking water is provided to the crew The ECLS system also monitors for emergencies such as rapid depressurization and fire and counteracts them.
