The Senior Research Assocaite in Biology will join the Cancer Drug Discovery Team within the Mechanism of Cancer Resistance site at Bristol-Myers Squibb in Cambridge, MA and will support the preclinical drug discovery and development for early-stage therapeutic targets.
The qualified candidate is a highly motivated, interactive, and creative individual that possesses the ability to work within a highly matrixed environment to advance preclinical drug development programs from target identification/validation through IND enabling activities. The candidate will be primarily lab-based and responsible for the design and execution of experiments, communicate findings, and collaborate with colleagues across multidisciplinary teams to drive drug discovery.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
4+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Or
Master’s Degree
2+ years of academic and / or industry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong scientific knowledge and research experience in cellular biology is required. Experience in cancer signaling pathways research and/or preclinical small molecule drug development is a plus.
Hands on experience with a wide range of in-vitro cellular assays including cell culture, cell line engineering (CRISPR, shRNA, overexpression), western blotting, immunoprecipitation, qPCR alphaLISA, MSD, reporter assays, and high throughput assay development (384-well). Experience in high content imaging is a plus, but not necessary.
Demonstrated independence in experimental design, execution, data analysis and troubleshooting is required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and communicate clearly with team members is required.
Attention to detail with excellent organizational and record keeping skills is a requirement.
Proficiency in utilizing software such as Graph Pad, Microsoft office etc.
This position is located in Cambridge, MA. There will be less than 10% travel.
