About the role
Overview The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Student Animal Care / Weekend Nursery Worker to work weekend & holidays. This candidate will perform a variety of tasks related to animal care. This position will work between 8 to 10-hour days on Saturday and Sunday between 6:30am and 4:00pm and will be required to work holidays. More days will be added depending on holiday schedule. Responsibilities Independently perform a variety of animal care husbandry duties like feeding, watering, and grooming Cleaning the nursery Assist with animal treatments according to prescribed instruction Update health/treatment records Maternal care of dams and neonatal care of puppies Transport animals to appointments May assist in canine whelping May participate in canine exercise and enrichment activities Qualifications Enrolled student at Auburn University Must be a US Citizen Must be 18 years old Have a valid driver’s license Have a current tetanus shot Be able to lift 50+ pounds Previous canine kennel care preferred Previous canine breeding and whelping experience preferred *CANNOT WORK / VOLUNTEER WITH ANOTHER VET CLINIC / HUMANE SHELTER Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Previous canine kennel care preferred Previous canine breeding and whelping experience preferred Have a valid driver’s license Be able to lift 50+ pounds Why Work at Auburn?
