The Cloud Architect will lead the assessment, design, documentation, and governance of complex cloud and hybrid enterprise environments while supporting systems engineering, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and technical modernization initiatives. The position serves as the senior technical advisor for cloud architecture, systems integration, and engineering activities supporting mission-critical systems. <strong>This is a remote position supporting a client based in Silver Spring, MD. Ability to obtain and retain a public trust clearance is a requirement for consideration.</strong></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead cloud architecture assessments for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Cloud Data as a Service (CDaaS), environments.</li> <li>Develop and maintain cloud architecture diagrams, dependency maps, data flows, interface documentation, and security boundary documentation.</li> <li>Analyze existing ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") enterprise architectures supporting modernization initiatives.</li> <li>Develop technical recommendations aligned with the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) and enterprise architecture best practices.</li> <li>Perform systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle in accordance with IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288.</li> <li>Support both Agile and traditional (Waterfall/V-Model) engineering efforts across multiple projects.</li> <li>Evaluate technical risks, maintain engineering risk registers, and reco
