SOUND Behavioral Health is growing, and we are hiring a child and family services clinician in Seattle, WA! 

 

Sound is one of King County’s most comprehensive providers of quality mental health and addiction treatment services, supporting our area’s most vulnerable populations. A central tenet of our work is Reaching Recovery, an evidence-based clinical care model.

 

The child and family services clinician is responsible for providing assessment, direct clinical intervention, and supportive consultation to child, adolescent, and adult family members presenting with emotional, behavioral, and co-occurring disorders.

 

This clinician will partner with the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), education (school), inpatient facilities, mental health residential facilities, and other systems of care in developing holistic, strengths-based, recovery-oriented therapeutic plans to maintain children and adolescents with significant mental health problems in the community.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Provides assessment, direct services, and internal and/or external organization referrals for clients.
  • Develops client assessments and treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
  • Prepares and Reviews necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes, and incorporates them into clinical records.
  • Performs consultation and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.
  • To comply with county and state standards there will be service intensity expectations for this position.
  • Assists clients as they work to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
  • Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
  • Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
  • Develop plans to address poor utilization of services with the supervisor.
  • Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
  • Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations and respects individual and cultural differences.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field is required

  • At least 2 years of directly related clinical experience to the program as a clinician or case manager and demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Has an advanced level of understanding of the principles of individual therapy, group therapy, and/or case management approach to providing services.

  • Possesses and routinely demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County and has a working knowledge of state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.

  • Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate, to their work at Sound.

  • Demonstrates the ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.

  • Ability to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with a complex and diverse population.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record required.

  • Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.

  • Must pass a criminal background check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
