Basic Eligibility For A Position With The NRO

Where You Will Work

The NRO Office of Security and Counterintelligence (OS&CI) passionately strives to ensure NRO mission support is maintained through continuous development, management of policy-driven guidance, and safety of our assets.  A key component of OS&CI efforts is maintaining a trusted workforce.  In working towards this, the NRO is seeking Polygraph Examiners for NRO’s Polygraph Management Branch (PMB) which serves as an information asset to the Personnel Security Division (PSD) supporting its overarching goal for adjudication of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access to NRO’s highly sensitive operating environment. 

The NRO is seeking Full Performance/Senior Polygraph Examiners to support the Chantilly, VA Polygraph Office. The incumbent oversees and conducts technical and comprehensive reviews of polygraph examinations administered by all NRO polygraph examiners. Examiners must ensure polygraph examinations strictly comply with legal, regulatory, and NRO security requirements. The primary focus of the NRO Polygraph Program (NPP) is on initial and aperiodic Counterintelligence Scope Polygraphs (CSP). Other testing requirements include Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) examinations and Specific Issue Polygraph (SIP) examinations relevant to SEAD 4 Personnel Security Standards. All examinations require case file analysis, interviewing, elicitation of information, and report writing. A pre-requisite is minimum 2 years federal polygraph experience and certification, and prior completion of training at the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA). This position will oversee a team of Quality Assurance Officers who complete technical and comprehensive reviews of polygraph examinations. Oversees and coordinates the Indoctrination Training Program, provides training to newly assigned examiners. Supports Chief, QA with NPP training, serves as the QA reviewer for certification packages for NPP examiners.

All polygraph examinations require case file analysis, interviewing, elicitation of information, and report writing.
