Description
Prevailance is seeking an experienced, mission-focused professional to be a Combat Systems Information Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet (CNSL) INSURV Readiness Assistance Team (IRAT).
CNSL and the future Commander Naval Surface Groups (CNSG) require teams of seasoned Subject Matter Experts (SME) to provide surface ship Commanding Officers and their crews with assistance in preparing for assessments, examinations, and assist with the preparation / execution of TYCOM Readiness Evaluations IAW Surface Force Training and Readiness Manual (SFTRM).
The IRAT consists of subject matter experts (SME) in Propulsion (MP) systems to include Marine Gas Turbines and Diesel Engines, Auxiliaries (AX), Electrical (EL), Damage Control (DC), Deck/Aviation (DK, AV), C5I Systems (CC, IS), Aegis (AW), Weapons (WP) Systems, Supply/Habitability (SP,HB).
The SME shall be able to independently work on or lead a team of shipboard technicians in conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing and/or the testing/operation of shipboard system networks and security to include CANES.
Performance will take place primarily at Government facilities and onboard ships. CONUS / OCONUS Travel will be required up to 35% of the time.
Requirements
- 25 years of U.S. Navy experience
- Graduate of Navy A and C schools’ associated with an Information Systems or Electronic Technician specialist
- Graduate of Navy A and C schools’ associated with Communications Suite (HF, UHF, SATCOM, Data Links) and/or shipboard networks
- Graduate of Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) AN/USQ-208(V) system
- Graduate of Advance Network Analyst (ANA) Systems
- Experience performing advanced level networking system management, administration and maintenance support to the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) AN/USQ-208(V) system
- Experience or served on CRUDES and Amphibious Surface ships
- Evidence of experience (i.e. AQD, letters of designation, Navy FitReps, Evaluations, Certification Letters, Course Completion certificates, FTLTMPS) within the past three (3) years
- Contractors that have been performing duties conducting material readiness assessments training, mentoring, and evaluating shipboard network systems (CANES), that meet all the specific qualification criteria, may be evaluated for candidacy as well
Strongly Desired
- 25 years of Navy experience in Shipboard Communications / Information Systems
- Limited Duty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Master Chief Petty Officer (E9)
- Served as an Electronics Material Officer on CRUDES or Amphibious surface ships
- Served as C5I Officer Combatant /Amphibious ships
- Experience as a Senior Combat Systems Inspector for the U.S. Navy Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV)
- Experience as an inspector at the Afloat Training Group or TYCOM staff focusing on Pre-INSURV preparations
- Experience on Major Command Staff (DESRON, ESG, PHIBRON) or Fleet/TYCOM Staff
Clearance
Must possess or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance
