The Information Systems Intern will support the Information Security team in the identification, analysis, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across enterprise systems. This role assists with running and validating vulnerability scans using Qualys, maintaining accurate asset inventories, and coordinating remediation activities with system owners. The intern will contribute to improving the organization’s vulnerability management processes, reducing exposure to known threats, and strengthening overall security posture.  

    

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program  

  • Pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or similar field  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities  

  • Interest in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or IT systems  

  • Familiarity with basic security concepts or vulnerability scanning tools preferred (Qualys experience a plus)  

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills  

  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders  

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to follow established procedures  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY 

Vulnerability Scanning & Analysis 

  • Assist with running and reviewing vulnerability scans using Qualys  

  • Validate scan results and support remediation efforts by collaborating with system owners  

Asset Inventory & System Tracking 

  • Help maintainan accurate and up-to-date asset inventory  

  • Support updates to the vulnerability tracking dashboard  

 

Remediation Support & Coordination 

  • Collaborate with system owners to communicate findings and remediation requirements  

  • Track remediation efforts to ensure timely resolution  

  • Document remediation steps and status updates as required 

 

Process Documentation & Workflow Development 

  • Support documentation of vulnerability management workflows  

 

Reporting & Compliance Support 

  • Prepare clear documentation of vulnerability management workflows  

 

Other Duties 

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support security program objectives  

 

   

The typical base pay range for this role is USD $26,000 - $26,000 per year.
