Submittable is seeking a Manager of Project Management to join our team in Bellevue, Washington, or Missoula, Montana. You’re a great fit for this role if you are an operational people leader that thrives on delivering results.
The Manager of Project Management will lead the team responsible for delivering Submittable’s largest and most complex client projects. Our project team is made up of internal FTEs and outsourced 3rd party delivery staff. In addition to leading the team, The Manager of Project Management will be responsible for operational business planning and quarterly strategic review inputs, maximizing utilization rates on billable engagements and ensuring on-time delivery of successful project milestones.
Guiding/assisting project leads in strategic client programs will be of particular focus. This will require cross-team and cross-department alignment and communication with executives, team leaders, and individual contributors to drive strategic customer retention and expansion.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Review, analyze, and interpret complex information to advise and counsel other Submittable staff on Project Management (PM) and Professional Service issues.
- Track actual results against set objectives and provide regular PM dashboard updates while providing internal stakeholders, including Customer Success and Executive leadership, regular updates on strategic customers to identify risk and opportunity, and resolve internal dependencies
- Identify and recommend staffing needs for delivery teams and ensure the preparation of the team for upcoming projects.
- Ensure the development and implementation of processes, tools, knowledge, and measures for the team to maintain excellent performance.
- Provide leadership to the PM team and supervise, mentor, and develop the PM team to continually improve performance and increase the productivity and efficiency of the team while encouraging inventiveness to break down barriers and bypass roadblocks.
- On occasion, act as Lead Project Manager on client projects with the goal of providing temporary project support until the Project Manager is able to fully take over based on temporary capacity constraints, vacation schedules, etc.
- Work with Sales and the Solutions Engineering team to support the review and authoring of presale SOW documentation to support our Customer Success model with proper intake, scoping, and prioritization of customer programs
- Become a Submittable expert and lead with knowledge of the software
Skills & Experience We Hope You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the management of billable, project management, and/or customer-related roles.
- Minimum 3 years experience working within a SaaS environment delivering mission-critical software solutions to clients
- Grants Management experience or familiarity preferred.
- Accredited in standard project management methodology, PMI, or demonstrative historical work skillset.
- Experience with software development lifecycles, including Agile/Scrum
- High level of emotional intelligence when dealing with and managing difficult situations
- Resource management, effective control of bench staff >75% utilization
- Demonstrated experience continuously reviewing and ensuring Program management pricing execution within required margins.
- Client Relations: demonstrated experience building relationships and trust through actions, able to contextualize and differentiate immediate vs. future needs, strong negotiation and consultative skills
