Job Description

The role: 

The International Development Division has an opening for International Project Coordinator (I).  The International Project Coordinator (I) will provide administrative support to the division Senior Vice President as well provide support to project activities in English-speaking and francophone projects in the areas of basic education, youth and workforce development, and/or global health. While the work will include administrative duties, it is seen as an opportunity for the right candidate to progress to serious and substantive work, especially that which looks at innovative ways to improve learning and livelihoods in developing countries.  This is a full-time position based out of the Waltham, MA office.  We offer a hybrid work environment with both in-person and remote work expected.

The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The International Project Coordinator (I) may be expected to travel in the US and abroad (up 2-4 times per year depending on project needs) The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

You will: 

Under management oversight, the International Project Coordinator (I) will provide the following administrative support to the international division by:

  • Providing administrative support to Senior Vice President and other senior leadership in the division, including scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, etc.
  • Serving as key organizer for division internal and external events such as product launches, brown bags, panel discussions, conferences, and monthly staff meetings
  • Providing operational support and training to new employees in the Waltham Office
  • Reviewing and approving requests for email addresses
  • Managing and reconciling division corporate credit card
  • Setting up logistics for division-wide meetings and helping with meeting preparation (room-set-up, meals and refreshments, hotel accommodations, etc.)
  • Translating documents to/from French and English as needed
  • Coordinating other activities as needed to support division goals and needs

In addition, under the guidance of the Project Director for the assigned project(s), the International Project Coordinator (I) will also support project activities by:

  • Providing logistical, operational and administrative support to staff
  • Researching, compiling, and synthesizing information
  • Maintaining project records on SharePoint
  • Supporting project procurement
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for staff and consultants
  • Disseminating information, including website content
  • Draft or translate materials, especially into or from French
  • Reviewing of invoices and expenses
  • Serving as backup for other project staff
  • Assisting with project start-up and close down by working closely with EDC’s administrative departments
  • Assisting in identification, recruitment, and fielding of technical consultants and staff to the project office
  • Supporting hiring of staff for the field office
  • Submitting routine wire transfer requests and invoices to Accounting department for timely disbursement and payments
  • Monitoring contractual compliance
  • Assisting with drafting performance reports & briefs
  • Providing communications support
  • Assisting with quality assurance
  • Other tasks as assigned
